Hybrid Heat

Geothermal energy is often referred to as a new form of alternative energy. While it is
new in its current application, geothermal energy has been used to heat and air
condition homes for several decades. Some of the more common variations include
geothermal, geo exchange, water furnace, ground-water assisted, ground-water
source and water to water.

No matter where you live, the outdoor temperature varies throughout the year. Here
in Northern Michigan, we experience blazing hot summers and frigid cold winters. Regardless of the season the temperature below ground remains consistent
throughout the year, approximately 55 degrees.

Nearly half of the solar energy our planet receives is absorbed by the ground.
This provides an ideal source to efficiently heat and cool your home. Geothermal
systems are able to tap into this free energy using a sealed underground piping
loop filled with circulating water and a high-efficiency heat pump to transfer heat
from the earth to your home.
